How to install your Windows 7 / Vista / XP without a CD / DVD drive (using ethernet)

You own one of these nice little Asus eee (or other) netbooks and need to reinstall your Windows operating system from a CD or DVD? Of course you can use an USB key, but this is damn slow and needs some tricky preparations. Ryan T. Adams wrote a fine how-to on doing this via Ethernet:

How to Install Vista on a M200 Without a CD Drive Using TFTP

Note
Be sure to use a direct connection (Cross link) between your computers, otherwise starting a DHCP server in a LAN might disturb other clients.

Thanks to Ryan!
